About Me

I was able to draw well from an early age, and was influenced and encouraged by George E Mackley, my art teacher at school, regarded as one of Europe's finest wood engravers.

My prefered medium is pure watercolour. I am excited by the translucence and subtle effects possible with this medium.

The subject's I am interested in are:

Landscapes of all types

Seascapes and estuary scenes, usually including boats

River and lake scenes, sometimes including anglers

Architectural subjects

Industrial subjects, often including derelict plant and machinery

I exhibit with three art groups in Surrey and have had work in the Mall gallery on a number of occassions

I have work in private collections in the UK, France, Italy and as far apart as New Zealand and Canada
